In my perception, goldsmiths are always collectors as well. Not only have I observed a preference for old boxes, tools and techniques, myself but also in so many of my colleagues. We also collect emotions by accompany customers on their search for wedding rings, repairing memorabilia, manufacturing pieces that symbolise friendship or love or rework ing heirlooms.
Regarding my work, I enjoy either reducing or overloading. Also I love to combine traditional goldsmithy techniques with completely unconventional approaches. For example grinding stones or working with iron, glass, fabric or porcelain.
I want to bring a little love into everyday life. Not always just the simple, fluffy rosecoloured kind of love, but also the bittersweetness of homesickness of longing or the love of memories. Ultimately, my pieces are keepsakes meant to be worn, collect traces and tell stories.
